Bookings
You can book your rental vehicles by internet, email, phone or fax. Booking confirmation and supply is guaranteed upon receipt of payment of a 10% booking deposit.
Airlink Auto Hire will endeavour to supply the vehicle quoted at the time of reservation. However we reserve the right to substitute a similar model or cancel the reservation request.
(Not all vehicles are available in all locations)
Payment and refunds
Payment is to be made at commencement of hire by Visa, MasterCard, NZ EFTPOS, travellers cheques or cash.
Refunds for early returns may be available if 48 hours notice is given.
Cancellation
If a booking is cancelled within 14 days prior to commencement of hire, a fee may apply (up to the booking deposit amount).
Supply and availability
If a booked vehicle becomes unavailable after a confirmed reservation, we will transfer or upgrade the booking to the closest available model at no extra cost.
Rental term
1 day = 24 hours or part thereof. We allow up to 2 hours grace on return time. After the grace period, a rental fee equal to 1 day hire will be charged (a penalty fee may apply to rentals extended without notification).
Rates are based on a minimum rental length of 1 day. Kilometer charges typically apply to hires of less than 5 days.
Driver Eligibility
Minimum driver age is 21 years. There is no maximum age.
All drivers must present a full, valid driving license. Driving licenses must be in english or accompanied by official translation or an international license. License details for all drivers must be entered on the "office copy" of a rental contract.
See hiring information page for additional licensing requirements & information.
Insurance
Comprehensive vehicle insurance including third party is included in our rental rates.
All insurances offered have an insurance excess (amount depends on location, vehicle type, etc.)
Rental insurance may be void if the vehicle is operated outside the rental contract or NZ law.
See hiring information page for additional insurance information
Rental vehicle damage
In the event a rental is returned with new damage, the following will occur ...
- The insurance excess will be deducted from the renter's credit card or bond.
- Damage to the vehicle will be assessed and a quotation for vehicle repair will be obtained.
- If the renter is not at fault, our insurance company will attempt to recover the renter's excess from the other party.
- If the renter is at fault and the repair cost is less than the insurance excess, the remaining unused excess will be reimbursed.
