Warbirds over Wanaka International Airshow

 

International Airshow

Held every second year at easter, the Warbirds over Wanaka International Airshow is one of the most fantastic Airshows in the world ! Avation attractions from the most famous warbirds in the world and classic aircraft to today's modern jets.
Over 50 aircraft will attend Warbirds Over Wanaka including the flimsy biplanes of World War I, the heroes of World War II, the fighters of Korea and the awesome jets of Vietnam. These aircraft are flown in exciting scenarios that recreate history. Pyrotechnics displays are included to add to the excitement and reality.
 

On The Ground

On the ground there is a variety of military vehicles, vintage machinery, Classic Fire Engines and an aviation trade expo. In the military enclusure, vehicles from two World Wars are presented in life-like situations. Now a regular feature, a line-up of colourful Classic Fire Engines are displayed for all to see.
 

Location

The Wanaka warbirds airshow is held at Wanaka Airport which is situated 10km from Lake Wanaka township on State Highway 6 at Luggate. Wanaka is centrally situated and is easy to reach by road.
